Kate Chadwick, a senior at Hidden Valley High School, will graduate as a member of the Class of 2026. Throughout her time at Hidden Valley, Chadwick has made a lasting impact on the school community through her kindness, leadership and musical talent. As president of the Hidden Valley choir program, she has helped shape the program and inspire those around her.
Among the many experiences she has had during high school, Chadwick said one teacher made a particularly meaningful impact on her journey. “Mr. Miller has taught me how to be confident not only in my singing skills, but also in myself,” Chadwick said about the choir teacher who helped her grow both as a performer and as a person.
Reflecting on her high school years, Chadwick said she would give her freshman self one important piece of advice: “Do not be afraid of what others think. Be yourself and also be a friend to others.” That mindset became a defining part of her personality and helped shape her high school experience.
After graduation, Chadwick plans to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “I am hoping to serve in a different country, hopefully learning a new language as well,” she said. Chadwick is excited to carry the lessons she learned in high school into the next stage of her life while helping others.
Although she is preparing for a new chapter, Chadwick said she hopes to stay connected with the friends who supported her throughout high school. “They have taught me so much about friendship and life, and I cannot imagine going on with my life without keeping them in my heart,” she said.
In addition to choir and soccer, Chadwick is passionate about business and global politics. She plans to study those subjects at Brigham Young University after returning from her mission. She also hopes to continue volunteering in developing countries and helping provide children with better access to food and education.
As she leaves Hidden Valley, Chadwick carries with her a spirit of compassion, leadership and service that will continue to impact those around her for years to come.
