Before the page is turned on high school for Bella Facciani, she is reflecting on her years at Hidden Valley High School. During this time, she has developed resilience and learned to take advantage of the opportunities presented to her.
The opportunities Facciani is most proud of are her involvement in tennis and volleyball. She said participating in sports has taught her lessons about determination, competition and teamwork. It has also allowed her to build friendships that will last beyond high school. “The things I’m most passionate about right now are tennis and enjoying the last little bit of my senior season,” she said.
Looking ahead, Facciani said, “I’m most excited about this next phase of my life because I’m going to V.T. and will get to branch out and meet new people.” She plans to attend Virginia Tech in the fall. She also said she hopes to stay connected with the friends she has made throughout high school.
Facciani offered advice to underclassmen, encouraging them to avoid procrastination and take advantage of opportunities when they arise. She said those experiences help make the most of high school both socially and in preparation for life after graduation.
“My favorite book is Wonder because it has a powerful message about kindness and not giving up,” she said. Facciani emphasized that kindness can not only improve someone’s day, but can also have a lasting impact on their life.
As graduation approaches, Bella Facciani looks ahead to a bright future, with new experiences and opportunities waiting beyond high school.
