The Oscars is the biggest event for anyone in Hollywood. Actors and directors all meet up to see who won different awards such as best actor and best film. This year on March 15th at the Dolby Theater, the Oscars were held with many awards going out.
The Oscars are held to award and show appreciation to actors, directors, and movies made for our entertainment. There are many categories to win an award in the Oscars such as best actor, actress, director, screenplay, and a few others. The Oscars also give the opportunity for everyone in Hollywood to come to together for night and embrace each other and celebrate without any differences.
Many people gather around the TV to see if their favorite movie won.
Nolan Woodard (11) said “Every year I sit down in my basement with a few friends and watch the Oscars.” The Oscars also bring together friends and family for a night of fun. Woodard also had thoughts in the winners this year. ” I’d say I agree with One Battle After Another winning. I thought it was a phenomenal film. I will say I also agree with Sinners winning in a lot of the categories that was another amazing film.” This year’s Oscars was an exciting one for people interested in film.
Another film interested student, Julian Neighbors (11), had something to say about the Oscars, “I know the winners are decided by vote, but I wish a few more films won and Sinners didn’t win practically everything.” Sinners did win the most awards out of any film.
The Oscars this year were an exciting showing for all in film with great films being recognized for their greatness. Films and actors are only getting better and I’m excited to see what next years have to offer!
