December has rushed by quickly this year and with it, time for winter traditions is slipping away. Here are the top five Christmas movies to watch this year decided by Hidden Valley High School students.
“The best Christmas movie is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” says freshman Amelia Raring. “It’s my favorite because Rudolph is a misfit.” It can be watched on Google Play Movies, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime Video. This is the oldest movie on the list, as it was made in 1964.
Kaitlyn Kingsley (9) thinks The Grinch is a must-watch. “It looks really fun to steal presents,” she says. “And it was nice how he returned them.” There are three adaptions of this movie: the animated 1966 adaption, the 2000 live-action starring Jim Carrey as the Grinch, and the animated 2018 adaption. They can be viewed on Peacock.
“Home AloneĀ is a fun movie,” says Alesha Bratton (9). She mentions her enjoyment in the “Wet Bandits” getting injured. The movie can be watched on Hulu, Disney+, Fandango, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple Tv.
Freshman Ansley Tompkins remarks, “Elf is my favorite because it reminds me of my childhood.” The film can be found on various streaming services, such as Hulo, Sling TV, and Amazon Prime Video.
Another movie to watch before the end of the year isĀ A Christmas Story. Eliza Lubeck says, “My favorite part of it is Ralphie’s internal monologue.” This is the second oldest movie on the list and came out in 1983.
Whatever you decide to do with your dwindling Christmastime, don’t forget to enjoy your holidays and spend time with friends and family. Happy holidays, Hidden Valley!
