After four years of hard work and dedication, the seniors of Hidden Valley High School are preparing for graduation. Among them is Griffin Ross, a student-athlete who balanced academics with his commitment to the school’s cross-country and track and field teams.
Throughout high school, Ross competed in events ranging from 5Ks to 200-meter dashes, demonstrating determination and consistency both on and off the track. Beyond athletics, he said one of the most meaningful parts of high school was the friendships he built along the way.
Ross said he is especially proud of participating in high school sports because of the opportunity it gave him to support others.
“I get to help a lot of kids with whatever they are dealing with,” Ross said.
For Ross, athletics were about more than competition and performance. He said the relationships and sense of community created through sports made his high school experience more rewarding.
After graduation, Ross plans to pursue a career in welding and said he is eager to begin learning the trade and building a future for himself.
“I’m most excited about learning how to weld and make a future out of it,” Ross said.
As he prepares for the next chapter of his life, Ross said he is motivated by the idea of becoming independent and building a successful future.
“As of now, I’m most passionate about making money,” Ross said.
Teachers and classmates describe Ross as a hardworking and dedicated student who consistently put effort into both academics and athletics. After years of balancing schoolwork, practices and competitions, Ross now looks forward to the rewards of graduation and the opportunities that lie ahead.
