As prom season approaches, students at Hidden Valley High School are spending the two weeks leading up to the event preparing for one of the most anticipated milestones of their high school experience. Students have been preparing in many different ways from shopping trips, group planning, planning when to get ready together, and figuring out the big night.
For many students, prom is more than just a dance. It’s a tradition that marks the transition toward the end of high school while creating lasting memories with their friends. In order to make the night special, students are carefully organizing every detail.
“I prepared for prom by first finding a dress at Trend Formals downtown,” said junior Riley Eades. “Then I had to coordinate things like pictures and dinner with my prom group.” Like many other, Eades emphasized how planning goes beyond just what to wear, involving communication and coordination among friends.
However, not every part of the process is easy. One of the biggest challenges students face is making group decisions. “The hardest part for our group was agreeing on a place to go for dinner,” Eades explained. With multiple opinions and preferences, even small choices can become complicated.
Despite the stress, excitement remains high. Many students are most looking forward to the experiences itself. Getting dressed up, taking photos, and spending time with friends. “I’m looking forward to being able to get ready with my friends and get all dressed up and then go take cute pictures,” Eades said.
As prom night draws closer, Hidden Valley students continue to balance the pressure of planning with the excitement of the event, all while preparing for an event they wont forget.
