Everyday, Officer Shrader shows up right on time, wearing his uniform and carrying his signature energy drink, a white Monster. He starts the day by letting his dog out and immediately starts preparing to deal with the students for the next eight hours. Kids from all over the school come in by the minute just to talk to him and take candy from his candy bucket.
Once he arrives at school, Officer Shrader spends most of the day walking around campus, making sure nothing goes wrong. He handles problems, talks to students, and somehow manages to stay calm even when people test his patience for fun. Getting teased is part of his daily schedule and he has just learned to accept it.
When the school day ends around 3:30, Officer Shrader either goes home or heads off to work overtime doing traffic enforcement. When not working, Officer Shrader goes to the gym to workout for about two or three hours. Next, he goes home to see his dog and decompress after a full day of work.
On the weekend, Officer Shrader refuses to relax. Instead, he works on house projects or construction jobs. When he finally is finished, he plays his guitar or goes out to dinner on the weekends. His life may be simple, but from a students point of view, it mostly looks like patience, routine, and an impressive ability to keep showing up every morning with the same energy drink. Shrader is a big help to our community’s safety. Thank you Monster for helping him to help us!
