In the Hidden Valley building, a powerful yet often overlooked force works behind the scenes to make school life better for not only students but also staff. The PTSO is led by dedicated members like Mrs. Preston and is supported by other teachers and volunteers. The PTSO plays a vital role in supporting educators, uplifting the community, and improving the school environment through consistent and meaningful contributions.
The PTSO’s work happens whenever support is needed. Whether they are organizing events, providing resources, or helping teachers complete tasks. These efforts help create a more positive and effective environment for everyone in the building. Their impact is felt daily, even though much of their work happens quietly and without recognition.
Mrs. Preston, one of the teachers closely involved with the PTSO, shared insight into the goals and motivation behind their efforts. When asked about her goals for the PTSO she responded saying she would like to increase parent involvement in school activities. She also shared what inspired her involvement by saying “I wanted to contribute to the school community.” Mrs. Preston expressed pride in the groups work adding, “I think we have done a lot of great work for the staff so far this year and I can’t wait to continue.”
Another PTSO supporter, Mrs. Laubach, described the atmosphere within the organization and the positive energy the group brings to the school. “I enjoy how everyone helps each other and works as a team,” she said. She believes the PTSO makes a meaningful difference, noting, “The PTSO makes the school happy and fun for everyone.” Looking ahead , Mrs. Laubach hopes to see even more community building events, saying, “I want the PTSO to have more fun events to help parents and kids learn new things.”
The PTSO may not always be front and center, but their influence is unmistakable. Thanks to leaders like Mrs. Preston, Mrs. Laubach, and other committed members, the PTSO remains a vital part of what makes the hv building a supportive and successful learning environment.
