Hidden Valley High School students ranked their favorite Halloween candies this October. Seeing as candy is a fundamental part of Halloween, it is no surprise that October is the biggest month for candy sales thanks to trick-or-treating.
After talking to students, the top five candies were ranked. Reese’s coming in first place, with its classic combination of peanut butter and chocolate making it an all-time favorite. “I think Reese’s are definitely the best,” said sophomore Paige Yeager when asked about her top Halloween candy choice. M&Ms were in second, loved for their colorful shells. Kit Kats landed third, offering a perfect balance of crunch from the wafer and chocolate. Snickers took fourth place, known for their layers of nougat, caramel, and peanuts. Finally Sour Patch Kids in fifth, adding a fruity and sour kick for those who prefer something different from the usual chocolate. Chocolate dominates the list, but the Sour Patch Kids show that gummies are still a classic favorite.
“I’d have to say Kit Kat’s are my favorite,” said Sophia Martinez, another Hidden Valley student. Both students also mentioned Twix as a personal favorite.
Overall, this Halloween season, various candies ranging from Reese’s to Sour Patch Kids have been popular.
