This year, Halloween falls on a Friday, a rare event, leaving people excited for the spooky weekend. Election day lands on the following Tuesday, leading most schools to give students a four-day weekend. People all around the world are getting ready for this weekend filled with fun and fright.
Halloween is a holiday involving tricks and treats. When we were younger, we all went trick or treating, trying to see who could get the most candy. Now that we are older many of us have grown out of that.
When asked what he did on Halloweekend, Ariston Mabes (11) said “I went to a Haunted House in Blacksburg and hung out with some friends.” Mabes (11) also stated, “I had a Soccer game on Sunday, so I was getting read for that.”
Halloween was different for a lot of people this year. As people get older and grow out of trick or treating, they seem to focus more on what’s important, like friends and sports. While some focused on more important aspects of life, a lot of people also made sure to enjoy and have fun this Halloween.
When asked what he was most excited for this weekend, Josh Mowles (11) said, “There are going to be a lot of party’s this weekend and I’m excited to see all my friends.” Mowles (11) also said “Going out with all the guys on a four-day weekend will be a lot of fun, this doesn’t happen often, especially on a holiday.” It’s safe to say everyone is excited about the weekend.
Halloweekend has been very anticipated this year. Everyone should be excited, but the most important part is being safe. People should go out and have fun with friends and family and enjoy the weekend, but also be aware of their surroundings ensuring everything is safe and no one gets hurt. Enjoy your weekend Titans!
