Thanks to the help of the SCA staff, and Ms. Fisher, SCA sponsor and HVHS AP US History teacher, the 2025 HVHS Homecoming was a success!
The planning for Homecoming starts with the Student Council Advisory, also known as the SCA. The SCA is a group of students who collaborate with the school staff in order to plan school events. The SCA, under Mrs. Fisher’s guidance, initially determines the theme, orders everything necessary for decorations and props, sorts out the Homecoming dance date, and comes up with ideas for spirit week.
“We put up decorations the Monday before, Saturday morning we pick up the food, and we go from there!” said Ms. Fisher, reflecting the work that SCA had to prepare for the upcoming Homecoming dance.
From decorations to picking up the food, a lot was done for Homecoming to be such a massive hit! As for how that work paid off, Ms. Fisher said, “The theme was really popular, overall. I think everybody had a really good time. As for the dance, I think everybody enjoyed themselves. The parade went well, so across the board everything went well.” Thanks to Ms. Fisher and SCA’s constant efforts, homecoming was a successful event, and everybody enjoyed the dance.
The preparations for homecoming have been key to making homecoming an unforgettable event, but what do the students think about this year’s homecoming? Christian Bolling (11) said, “Homecoming was a lot of fun! I think everyone I talked to have a good time, and I really enjoyed the theme. I think in the future, I would rather have the music be chosen more by the students, but it was fun!” Overall, it seems like everyone had a good time. There have been few complaints about anything, excluding the music.
Thanks to SCA’s hard work, Homecoming was a successful and fun event for everyone! Hidden Valley High School will be excited to see what the SCA will do for future events and future dances!
