The Suicide Prevention Month Sticker Contest 2025 invites residents of the Roanoke Valley to turn their hand-drawn art into powerful mental health awareness messages for a chance to win a $50 prize.
Sponsored by Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, the Suicide Prevention Council of Roanoke Valley, and NAMI, the contest is open to adults and adolescents living in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem City, Craig County, or Botetourt County, excluding BRBH employees.
The purpose of the contest is to promote positive mental health messages and raise awareness for suicide prevention. “The school encourages students to participate through daily announcements, emails sent to all Prevention Club members, announcements during club meetings, social media, and emails to staff.” says Mrs. Worrell, the Hidden Valley High School Life Counselor.
Participants must submit a hand-drawn design that includes a positive mental health message and crisis hotline information. “A creative outlet like this sticker contest allows students to be creative and design stickers that may be more appealing and relatable to their peers versus an adult trying to design it.” says Hidden Valley counselor Mrs. Laubach.
The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2025. Judging will be based on the quality of the art, originality, and creativity. Two winners will be selected, each receiving a $50 prize and having their artwork featured on a sticker to be distributed during Suicide Prevention Month.
