7 Brew celebrated its grand opening on September 1 in Salem, Virginia. Founded with the inspiration of a fun and fast coffee experience, the company gained a lot of popularity due to its unique flavors and personalized service, expanding to over 340 locations across 32 states by March 2025.

The new 7 Brew location in Salem gathered considerable community interest, as it is the first of its kind in the area. The diverse selection of drinks attracted extensive interest, with many attendees—such as Maren Cox, a Hidden Valley junior—eagerly trying them for the first time. Cox (11) makes regular visits to 7 Brew. “I like 7 Brew because it has so many unique flavors and combinations that you can form. You can do coffees, energy drinks, fizz and almost anything you can think of”, Cox (11) said.

In contrast to Cox (11)’s spiked interest in the new coffee shop, another Hidden Valley student, Susie Metz (11) did not see the sensation of 7 Brew. “It was good but not as good as I thought it would be. I thought it was not different than other establishments like Starbucks or Sweet Donkey,” Metz said. She explained that the service was friendly, and the drink was to her liking, but it lacked standout that would convince her to switch from her usual coffee stops.

The opening of 7 Brew in Salem has sparked conversation among residents, drawing curiosity and mixed reviews. While some enjoyed 7 Brew for the first time, others found that it didn’t stand out enough from existing coffee shops. Despite 7 Brew becoming the peoples favorite or just another shop, it has already made a significant impact on the community.
