As the 2026 Men’s March Madness season has now ended, let’s reminisce on the ‘Round of 32’, containing many teams in various locations on the 21st and 22nd of March 2026. March Madness has got to be the most popular basketball tournament of the year. I mean, all the people I know are aware of this tournament. The ‘Round of 32’ is where the real tension begins.
March Madness is a tournament after the regular season of college basketball, including men and women. Although they have separate tournaments, they occur at the same time. Not every team gets to participate in the tournament, with it being the 16th through 1st seed team in each region. Those regions include the East, West, Midwest, and South. It works just like any other tournament. The games this year for the ‘Round of 32’ occurred in Buffalo, Greenville, Oklahoma City, Portland, Tampa, Philadelphia, San Diego, and St. Louis.
March Madness’ “one-and-done” format gives any team the ability to lose at any given point, giving the tournament a tense feel. This ultimately is the reason as to why March Madness is so well known. The ‘Round of 32’ refers to the second round of March Madness. This signals the start of the actual tension. This is where everything gets real.
Many people wanted Duke to lose. Duke is known to be an amazing team but is also known to be annoying. Chloe-Ann(12) didn’t want Duke to win because she thinks they are overhyped. She also felt sad after the ‘Round of 32’ because Virginia lost to Tennessee. She wanted Virginia to win the tournament.
All in all, this year’s March Madness was great. The ‘Round of 32’ didn’t have many upsets, but still sparked tension, confusion, happiness, and everything in-between. In my opinion, this was the best March Madness yet!
