The Premier League is back and better than ever! This season is looking to bring more excitement and hopefully crown a new champion. The Premier League consists of the top soccer players in the world, representing their respective British clubs. This league brings the most action with an aggressive style of play stemming from the teams’ different ideologies of soccer. There are many teams looking to crown themselves Premier League champions, so let’s break it down.
Starting with the reigning champions Liverpool FC. They slipped away to win the league title last season with a ten-point lead ahead of 2nd place Arsenal. They were dominant all year long and hope to continue the success. Led by Mo Salah the Reds are already off to a great start and even making some groundbreaking signings like Newcastle’s’ Isak. “I think Liverpool will win the league this season, they are too dominant and have a very strong squad,” said Santi Trochez (11) in an interview. There are some teams that could possibly compete for the title this season against Liverpool.
After a dominating run a couple of years ago, Manchester City has faced an enormous drop off. This recent performance leaves fans questioning if they are even a legitimate contender anymore, or if it was just hype. “Manchester city is my dark horse; they are turning it around and looking to shock everyone,” explained David Faltas (12). Another club looking to bounce back is Tottenham. After a disappointing season but also winning a Europa League trophy, the Spurs have parted ways with Ange placing their Premier League hopes into ex-Brentford manager Frank. Spurs’ rival in North London; Arsenal is also a good contender to win the league. They are known for getting 2nd place and maybe this year could be the year they win it all. “I think Arsenal is overrated, they don’t live up to the hype, they can only get 2nd place,” David Faltas elaborated.
There are multiple teams who have a chance to win the league this year, and you should be excited to watch. Many clubs are setting their sights on Premier League champions and Champions league qualification. Santi Trochez stated when interviewed that his “three favorite teams to win the league this year are Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester United.” This is going to be a very exciting season, and you have to tune in.
