On April 10th , the notorious music event Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival returned for its 25th year. Its wide variety of music, influence as a major trendsetter for fashion, and media coverage contributes to the of hundreds of thousands of people who attend it. This year’s gathering is headlined by Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G, followed by over 130 artists of all different genres.
Teacher and fashion enthusiast, Mrs. Preston, shared her thoughts on the notorious festival. She highlighted her appreciation for its mixture of fashion, art, and community. Preston stated, “I think it’s so popular because it’s a place that mixes music, and fashion together, and has lots of traction on social media.”, showing the large role social media plays in Coachella, and its appeal to many. Lastly, she shared how it is fascinating to see the impact it makes on trends across America.
Olivia Lovern is a junior in high school and a big music enthusiast. Olivia said, “even though I’ve never been I almost feel like I have of how many videos and people online talk about it.” She also highlighted how the outdoor spring atmosphere is much more appealing to her than a traditional inside concert.
Overall, Coachella is much more than just a event, it is a place for people to express themselves through various art types. It brings many people together, even on social media. It really represents how things like this can have such a big impact on people all around the world.
