Every October, people from all across the southwestern Virginia region travel to see the Hexed Haunted House, an attraction known for it’s thrilling adventures and nightmares turned into reality. This year, the owners have promised more screams, more thrills, and more unforgettable moments that keep visitors coming back annually.

Located right outside of the city of Roanoke, Hexed transforms a warehouse into a maze of darkness with chilling sound effects and thrilling encounters. As guests make their way through the maze they come face to face with creepy scare actors, flashing lights, and jump scares right behind every door.

“I thought I could handle it, but it was terrifying walking through the darkness. It was a lot of fun even through the scares.” said Claire Mitchell (12).

Visitors come and describe their experience as both a rush of adrenaline and terrifying.

“I had lots of fun there and I did not get many scares due to being in the back, but the actors were amazing,” wrote Brooke Weaver.

The creators of Hexed take months out of their time to set up the rooms and design the warehouse. While they do take safety seriously, they never hold back when trying to give everyone a good scare. This careful balance between scares and safety is what keeps guests coming back year after year.

By the end of the night, every visitor leaves with a pounding heart and a throat sore from screaming.
