The band Deftones just recently dropped an album on the 22 of August 2025. Private Music, the album in name, has been very successful coming in at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. Critics and fans have seen this album as being one of the better pieces of work released by Deftones in a while with their last album released five years ago.

Deftones has been around for a long time, releasing their first album all the way back in 1995. Julian Neighbors (11) said “I’ve been a fan of Deftones ever since my dad put me onto them a couple of years ago. I also went to a concert of theirs not too long ago and was really excited for this new album.” This new album had a lot of classic Deftones rock in it. “My favorite song has to be Infinite Sources because it’s a really nice blend of their heavy but also beautiful sound.” stated Neighbors. This album is looking to be some of their best work.

When asked why he was so excited for this album Patrick Doyle (11) had said “It’s been a while since they had dropped an album, and it lived up to the hype.” Deftones are known for having that heavy metal sound but also having a theme for each album. Private Music had a general theme of rebirth shown by the snake, who had just shed its skin, on the album cover. “Having a theme of rebirth is very fitting seeing as how long it has been since their last album and how they are coming back.” said Doyle

So far, this album has lived up to every expectation it had and is a huge it with the fans. Will we see any more Deftones? We don’t know. We can only hope they continue to release music that hits with the fans like this album managed to do.
