As the school year comes to a close, it is important to recognize some of Hidden Valley High School’s outstanding seniors and their accomplishments. Maddi Carter is one such senior, planning to attend James Madison University this fall to major in kinesiology.
Over the past four years, Maddi has been a dedicated student-athlete. Since her freshman year, she has competed on both the lacrosse and volleyball teams. During her senior year, she joined the swim team and qualified for the state meet. She also played a vital role on the volleyball team, helping secure back-to-back state championships.
When asked about her favorite high school memory, Maddi said, “My favorite high school memory was our freshman year whiteout game against Cave Spring. We won, and it was super fun!”
While some seniors may feel nervous about the next chapter of life, Maddi is filled with excitement. “I’m really excited to go to college and start fresh,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to working toward my career as well as making new friends.”
Maddi has a passion for athletics and helping others, and she is working toward a future career in physical therapy. Outside of academics, she’s also ready for some fun and plans to take several trips to the beach this summer.
Reflecting on her time at Hidden Valley, Maddi has gained wisdom through her experiences. When asked what advice she would give her freshman self, she said, “Find your real friends and don’t stress too much over the little things!”
As a fun fact, if Maddi could have dinner with any historical figure, she would choose Abraham Lincoln. “I think he did a lot for this country, and he would have a lot to say,” she shared.
Maddi will graduate as a valedictorian and an active member of multiple clubs and extracurriculars. Her ambition, talent and positive spirit promise a bright future. We’re excited to see all that Maddi Carter will accomplish in the years ahead!
