Zoe Kluber, who joined Roanoke County Public Schools in fifth grade, is preparing to graduate from Hidden Valley High School and begin her next chapter at Warren Wilson College, where she plans to study sociology.
Over the past two years, Kluber has been a dedicated contributor to the Titan Times, writing articles on topics ranging from school events to global entertainment. Her work reflects a deep curiosity and a commitment to helping readers better understand the world around them.
“She is a talented, inquisitive writer, and we know she will carry these strengths into the next stages of her life,” said one staff member.
Outside of journalism, Kluber enjoys listening to a variety of music genres, driving, walking, and spending time with friends. She also enjoys watching impactful films like Whisper Trails, which she said “leaves a really strong impact with its message about mental health in our generation.”
Reflecting on her time at Hidden Valley, Kluber said she is grateful for the relationships she has built with peers and teachers. She cited Mrs. Newbern as one of the most influential figures in her high school career.
“I had her for World History I and psychology, and she taught in a way that was fun and engaging but still helped me learn,” Kluber said. “She also supported me in my personal life, even this year when I didn’t even have a class with her.”
Looking ahead, Kluber is excited about the changes that college will bring.
“I’m most excited about being in a completely different world and having a fresh start with independence,” she said. Still, she hopes to stay connected with her friends after graduation.
In the future, Kluber hopes to work for a nonprofit organization or at a state or national park.
As she wraps up her successful career at Hidden Valley, we wish her the best in all she chooses to pursue. We have every confidence she will accomplish anything she sets her mind to.
