Hidden Valley High School students participated in the annual Special Olympics Big Feet Meet that took place at William Fleming High School on Tuesday, September 23rd.
The Big Feet Meet is an annual event where students come together from schools all over the district to compete in track and field activities. Each year there is a message, and participants are encouraged to spread the word; this year’s message was #Younified, to symbolize everyone uniting. The morning started at 9am with a ceremony where participants lit the Flag of Hope.
Several Special Olympics members from Hidden Valley participated in this event. For example, Sophia Smith, a student who attended the event, stated, “My favorite event at the Big Feet Meet is running,” Additionally, students and teachers have been coming to this event for various periods of time and have assorted positive opinions of the occasion.
Mrs. A. J. explained, “This year was my first year at the Big Feet Meet competition and I enjoy seeing everyone coming together to celebrate the children,” Numerous attendees of this event reported the overall atmosphere at the event was joyous, happy, and exciting.
In essence, the Big Feet Meet unifies everyone and is an exciting event where students participate in sporting activities.
