The Grandin Chilledge, held in Grandin this previous Friday, had many excited people enjoying drinks, food, and live music. This monthly festival attracted hundreds of individuals who appreciate beer, music, and food.
To make this event possible, part of Grandin Road near its intersection with Westover, was blocked off by a group of volunteers. The small strip of road had room for vendors and a stage for musicians. It is only a $5 admission fee with drink tickets available for purchase for $5 each.
Community members started setting up around 3 PM and did not finish until 5PM, when the gates opened. Music started at six and the function ended around nine. However, cleanup did not end until eleven.
This fascinating event was planned and hosted by members of our community who wanted to create a fun gathering where people could connect with one another and have an enjoyable time.
One of the event coordinators, John Bryant, expresses his love for the task, saying, “My favorite job at the event is selling beverage tickets and working the admissions table.”
Folks came out to have a fun time and socialize. Maggie Bryant (11) says, “I really enjoyed the music and the atmosphere; all the people were so nice and fun.” And when asked if she would attend again, she said, “Yes, the event was very entertaining; it had good food and good music.” John Bryant comments, “I get to talk to everyone in attendance and catch up with many neighbors and friends.”
Unfortunately, the Chilledge stops during the colder months, and this was the last one this year. This exciting event will start back up at the end of March, and people can get back to partying on Grandin.
