Senior Spotlight: Conner Katerba

Conner Katerba is a senior at Hidden Valley High School (HVHS). He’s been at HVHS for two years, he started his HVHS career during his junior year. Conner has moved around a lot during his life, starting in New Jersey and ending up at Hidden Valley.

“After High School I am going to Virginia Western for two years and then transferring over to Virginia Tech for the last two years of my education,” Conner said. “I want to be a forest ranger after college. I want to do that because it’s all super interesting and I’ve always found nature really cool so that’s why I want to be a forest ranger as a job.”

Conner Katerba’s high school career was interrupted slightly during the covid year. Because so many schools were online, he didn’t have any of the “normal” high school experiences. Even with that, he has succeeded at Hidden Valley as a junior and a senior and has tips for upcoming freshman, and even people in high school. “High school is honestly pretty straightforward- focus and study hard during high school. Don’t be too thrown off by grades and just have fun,” he said. “Hidden Valley is a good school with a friendly community, so my years here have been pretty good.”
