2026 is just around the corner, meaning the FIFA World cup held here in North America is getting closer to arriving. Hidden Valley High School’s soccer enthusiasts have begun conversing their opinions and predictions for the upcoming tournament. This momentous event will attract billions of viewers and tourists, as well as intrigue students, not only at our school, but globally. The event will attract billions worldwide and serve as a pinnacle of the soccer championship.
Hidden Valley’s tech education professional, and avid soccer fan Mr. Radar roots for the U.S and their victory. “Even though the United States tends to disappoint me, I will be patriotic and cheer for their success.” he said. If the United States is successful, Mr. Radar foresees a new wave of student interest and participation towards athletics, especially soccer. He lastly suggested the potential of facility incorporating World Cup related assignments soon.
Hidden Valley High School sophomore and soccer player Gage Ison shared his excitement the U.S being one of the hosting countries this time around. He enjoys watching Virginia Tech, Argentina, and the United States play, and he is “most looking forward to the overall atmosphere and seeing who the champion will be” in the World Cup. He, however, has concerns about the games being spread across 3 different countries and worries it may cause confusion and be impractical.
The tournament will overall provide a special experience for students at Hidden Valley by intergrading education, with national pride and athletics. It will serve as a global event, marking a pinnacle point for soccer teams and bringing millions together, as well as creating a sense of community, through shared interests amongst adolescents.
