On Friday, August 22, the Hidden Valley Football team and all of Hidden Valley’s student athletes joined together to participate in the Titan Kick Off. Starting at 6:30P.M., multiple teams, from Volleyball to Soccer, lined up on the field at Bogle Stadium, creating a tunnel to celebrate the Titan football team. All of the sports teams were recognized by Hidden Valley and their fans. The goal of this game was to get everyone excited and ready for this upcoming football season by cheering on the team as they took on Tunstall.
Most of the team consists of juniors and seniors who have been playing together for years. Nolan Woodard(11) states, “We performed really well and have a solid team this year.” Having this strong connection led to some great plays, and Nolan explains some of them. “Playing as a team, running the ball, passing the ball, and playing good defense,” said Woodard. Being able to have trust in your team is a valuable trait to have.
Not only the players but the fans are excited for this season as well. Being able to enjoy Friday nights with a football game is an unforgettable high school memory. “Having something to look forward to every Friday is awesome,” said Victor Avilla(11). New and fun themes are another way to get fans into the Titan spirit. “Having different themes to dress up in with friends is something I enjoy,” Avilla said.
Julian Neighbors(11) said, “I hope to see us win this year.” A lot of people want to see our Titans perform well, and only time will tell. Although we may not have won the kickoff game, our Titans still played well and gave it their all. If we go at every game giving it our all, who knows what we can achieve. The school has a lot of faith in this Titan team led by Coach Tolliver (staff), and we hope for a successful season.
