Homecoming: Bop or Flop?

Homecoming: Bop or Flop?

The Hidden Valley High School ’22 Homecoming took place on September 24th at the school.

With many students in attendance, the HVHS hosted an outdoor homecoming with the theme being Moonlit Garden.

Many of the students that took part in the dance did enjoy it. Bella Shellnutt (10), says that she went with around eight friends. After being asked how homecoming was, she said that “homecoming was very enjoyable.”

“We ate dinner at Four Nineteen West and then we went to the actual homecoming dance,” Bella says. “I really liked going in the tents and dancing. I also enjoyed just watching people dance and having fun. I like seeing smiles on everyone’s faces.”

Bella is quoted saying she did go last year and that, “This homecoming was a lot better this year. I think people were having a lot more fun and that people were a lot more comfortable with each other because it wasn’t like the Covid-year.”

Covid affected many events in and out of school over the last few years, especially Homecoming. One thing Covid particularly affected was the social life at school. Bella is quoted saying that, “When you come back from quarantine and a lot of people were online, you just didn’t know people as well. It was kind of awkward almost, so when you went to homecoming last year, the environment was different. You didn’t feel comfortable being stupid and dancing.”

Bella’s overall rating for homecoming is: Bop.
