Ye, a rapper, lauded Hitler and cracked ant-semitic comments during an hour-long interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on December 1^st.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, made numerous racist jokes, references to anti-semitic stereotypes, and praises for Hitler during the livestreamed discussion. At least one monetary settlement was the result of Ye’s use of anti-semitic rhetoric and complimentary remarks about the Nazi dictator in professional contexts.

NBC News previously reported on Ye’s statement, “The Jewish media has made us feel like the Nazis and Hitler have never offered anything of value to the world,” Ye said during the interview. “I see good things about Hitler”.

Videos of Ye’s comments soon gained popularity on other social media sites. Videos of Ye glorifying Hitler on Twitter received hundreds of thousands of views very quickly. He continued Thursday evening. He tweeted what seemed to be a swastika inside of a Star of David, which Twitter later suspended for breaking its rules.

A student from Hidden Valley High School speaks their opinion on if Ye is doing this for publicity or truly meaning it. “I believe Kanye speaks on Hitler as being a good person to promote his upcoming albums and to spread his name around.”

After the tweets from Ye, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, expressed his dissatisfaction of Ye’s post. Ye tweeted a picture of Musk and a statement that it would be his final Twitter, to which Musk replied, “That is fine.” Musk responded to the tweet with the Star of David by writing, “This is not.” Ye’s account was later suspended.

“I think the actions of Kanye will affect his public image and turn his supporters against him, instead of creating more publicity for him, like he expects.” Said from the student at Hidden Valley.

Following the Jones interview, Ye faced backlash from friends, allies, and partners.

Ye’s repeated anti-Semitic remarks over the past few months have led to his account being suspended from Twitter and Instagram, the termination of his company’s contract with Adidas, and the dissolution of numerous other business relationships the rapper had with organizations like fashion label Balenciaga.
