The Hidden Valley Titans football team played the Cave Spring Knights on October 6th at Bogle Stadium. The two schools have had a rivalry ever since Hidden Valley High opened. The Titans put up a fight and Jackson Getz (12) ended up scoring a touchdown, making the final score 43-7.
Katie Brewer (12) was a little disappointed that her last rivalry game ended in a loss, but she still commented, “I had a lot of fun! I definitely had fun with the theme.”
The theme for that game was Toga Night for seniors, and white lies for the rest of the underclassmen. It’s a tradition for seniors to wear Togas at one of the home games during the football season.
Katie (12) claimed, “I was so excited to finally wear a toga! I have been looking forward to this night since sixth grade!”
Worth Paisley (12) stated, “It was a fun time being around my friends. Even though we lost, it was still a memorable experience.”
At the game there was also a food truck selling custard, and a couple of Cave Spring parents grilling and selling hamburgers. This helped the game environment become loud and fun. Both concession stands were also busy with people ordering snacks, so it was a good night for business and fun.
All in all, it was a memorable game and a fun time! The rain didn’t stop the Titans from showing their school spirit and cheering on their team.
