The Titan Store has recently opened once again at Hidden Valley High School. The Titan Store is a huge part of our school where students love to go and purchase their food every day.
The Titan Store is a large responsibility and takes a lot to run. Both students and sponsors, Mr. Hunt and Mr. Hutchins, put in a ton of work to make sure the store runs smoothly, so our school can have a fun unique place.
“I get here at 6:30 every morning, to get the slushies to freeze up and to start the popcorn because we have an industrial popper and we don’t want to take the chance of people burning themselves on the popcorn,” Mr. Hunt says about the work he does for the store.
Mr. Hunt does a ton to run the store and keep it open for our school. However, Hidden Valley students also do a lot to help with the school store. Taking time out of classes, organizing items, and much more, students help with multiple aspects of the store.
“The kids do all the stocking, all the inventory, and they work it. They have different money control systems; they have an inventory system, and they keep track of all their sales,” Mr. Hunt says about what the students do to help the store.
The store is a vital part of Hidden Valley High School. Many students visit it at least once per day to get a drink or have some of the store’s famous popcorn. The store is open almost every day.
“It is in the main hallway, and it is opened the first block of the day, the second block of the day, and the last block of the day,” Mr. Hunt says about when the stores open. “So, it’s closed during lunch because of federal policies we’re not allowed to compete with federal school lunches.”
The Titan Store is a beloved part of our school and is important to many students and staff. While the store is a fun place, a lot of work goes into running it.
