The new 2023 school year at Hidden Valley High School has begun, and Savanna Donathan encourages new students to look into clubs. Her beloved French club is a great way to make new friendships and build a good student resume.
When Ms. Donathan first began at Hidden Valley, she was the only French teacher in the school. She stated, “The French club would only exist if I was the one in charge of it.”
With her leadership, Donathan created new opportunities for the student body to appreciate French culture. To join French Club, you do not have to be currently taking a French course. Therefore, students can fill their schedules with different classes or languages, while keeping in touch with their French knowledge.
“You get benefits, especially if you join a leadership position in the club, it’s really good for colleges to see something like that.” Ritvik Vasudeva (12) mentioned.
For this year, Donathan strives to expand the French club into at least one meeting a month. Meetings would contain French food, movies, and games. It even helps students find new interests, like Vasudeva (12) found a secret love for French films.
As we discovered Ms. Donathan was also a part of French club in her high school years. Connecting with her interests in different languages and participating in French club helped Donothan build her career.
The French club provides so much experience to fill your student curriculum, experience different cultures, and form new friendships. You carry these experiences for the rest of your life, and it may even influence your career choices. This is a great asset offered at Hidden Valley High School and students are highly recommended to invest in it.
