Hidden Valley Highschool volleyball has done amazing the past few years winning two state championships back to back, after losing in the finials in 2022. The team has been playing with each other for a while and have great chemistry.
The team has had some up and downs losing to Christiansburg two times this past season, while having to play at Christiansburg HS to go to the state championship.
Calli Anderson (12) says, “instead of allowing it to defeat us we used the loss the put our focus towards the upcoming match.” Chloe Muscaro agrees, stating, “we were all upset that we lost, but we knew it wasn’t over and we had to go win no mater where we play.”
It is inspiring how the team can come back from their loss and use it as motivation to win at the finals.
Anderson says, “It feels amazing knowing we did what not many other schools and teams have and our hard work showed.” Mascaro also agrees that hard work pays off stating, “it feels incredible, we had to put in a lot of hard work and have the determination to do it twice but after the final point it was all worth it.”
Calli Anderson and Mascaro, both being seniors on the team, will not be here next season, since they will graduate this fall. Mascaro says, “I feel like the new team still has a chance at winning states again next year. No one thought we were going to win it this year and we did.”
This program has worked so hard to obtain their many wins and accomplishments, that brought them to win states two years in a row.
