The MLB Playoffs are here! There’s a wide variety of teams in them. There are contenders, dark horses, and sleepers. The last week of the regular season was interesting because it was a deciding factor for some teams. The Cubs were projected to get in but didn’t. The Marlins almost didn’t get in because the Mets’ grounds crew didn’t let them finish the game. The Angels didn’t get in with the two best players in today’s game.
In the first round, the Rays, the Brewers, the Blue Jays, and the Marlins were all swept. The Phillies play the Braves in the second round. The Dodgers face off against the D-Backs. The Twins go up against the Astros. The Rangers head to Baltimore to play against the O’s.
The Braves have a tough matchup ahead. The Phillies have the best chance to knock out the Braves. Trevor Waters states, “If the Braves can make it past the Phillies. They will win the World Series.”
The Orioles had one of the worst records last year. They turned it all around and made the playoffs this year. The D-backs were in the same position. During this year’s trade deadline, they made a splash and traded for some key players that helped them.
The D-Backs play the Dodgers in the second round. The Dodgers have one of the best chances to win the World Series. The D-Backs weren’t even supposed to make the playoffs up until the Cubs downfall started. “The Diamondbacks are a fun team to watch right now.” Trent McQuade said.
The Rangers made a trade for Max Scherzer because they needed more fire power after DeGrom’s injury. They also got Aroldis Chapman to help their bullpen. They have a good, young roster that didn’t need much help.
