World phenomenon Taylor Swift has hit the headlines again. The singer-songwriter has been on her well-known Eras Tour this past summer, boosting the economy all over the U.S. She begins her international tour on November 9th, as she finished her U.S. on August 9th. When finishing her first round of U.S. shows, she excited swifties around the world by announcing her rerecording of her beloved album 1989. As a popstar that circulates extreme popularity, when she does almost anything, fans go insane.
Taylor Swift has been through quite a bit in the past few years. Producer Scooter Brauns, who has not been very kind to Swift over the past decade, decided to purchase her first 6 studio albums when he bought Big Machine Records. She never thought that this would happen and was devastated that she did not own her work. She has reclaimed her albums Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and now 1989. If the label of (Taylor’s version) is behind the album title, she owns it!
Soon after announcing her 4th album rerecording, 1989, she announced that her Eras Tour would be hitting theaters on October 13th. Fans had a feeling that she would release a recording of the concert, but didn’t expect it in theaters. In 2018, Swift released the Reputation Tour Film on Netflix, after having a tour during the summer. There was much hope that this would happen for the Eras Tour, which it did.
Soon after it was announced she would be releasing it worldwide, fans that could not attend the Eras Tour were ecstatic. Many people could not get tickets because of the Ticketmaster fiasco, some could not afford tickets, and some lived too far away from show locations. By releasing a recording of the concert in theaters, fans from all over the globe could experience the show at affordable prices, still meet fellow swifties, and of course exchange friendship bracelets.
My family and I went to see the movie, and we were so excited because we could not get tickets to the actual show. I absolutely loved it. The cinematography was extremely high quality, and made it feel like you were on stage with her. Her performance was incredible and seems to have made some non-swifties appreciate her hard work and music. I would for sure rate it an 11/10 just because of how well produced and well done it was. I absolutely recommend going see it, even if you are not a swiftie. You never know, it may change your perspective!
