On September 7, 2023, Zach Bryan was arrested in Oklahoma on a charge of obstruction of investigation.
In police bodycam footage, Bryan was seen denying the officer knowledge of his address because he is a “famous musician”.
After being released on September 8, Bryan took his apologies to twitter to reassure fans that this is not typical behavior for him. He said, “Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me, and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me, and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around. Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”
His arrest has been seen in three different ways. Some people find it comical and don’t think much of it, some think its ridiculous he acted in such a way, and some honestly could not care less about it.
When asked on her stance of the arrest, Ella James (11) says, “It doesn’t change what I think of him, I’m still going to support him and listen to his music.”
The majority of people who are aware of the arrest are still supportive of Zach Bryan, but there are clearly some incredibly unhappy people.
On the other hand, Caroline Sander (11) said, “I think it was embarrassing and disrespectful of him.”
Bryan has had multiple run ins with law enforcement over the past two weeks, but this has been the only one where he was taken into the station.
Although the arrest has been publicized and emphasized by social media, there is no doubt that Bryan’s career as a singer will continue to flourish and grow every day. Who knows, maybe this will even help his publicity.
