Kung Fu Panda is one of many DreamWorks movie franchises. This being the fourth iteration it follows much like the three movies before it with the same formula. That being the main character (Po) sets off to defeat a villain that looks like it would be a daunting task to defeat while being accompanied by someone who does not believe or understand the full depths of his ability. Along the journey to defeat the villain Po learns something new about becoming a martial arts master.
In this movie though there is somewhat of a shakeup with the exclusion of the Furious Five. The Furious Five where prominent parts in each of the first three movies in different ways but they were still important and played some roles in the movie. The fourth movie does not have any of the members of the Furious Five show up in it.
Instead, Po’s accomplice in this movie is a Fox played by Awkwafina.
Making the people who have been in all four of the movies in the Kung Fu Panda franchise Jack Black (Po), Dustin Hoffman (Master Shifu), and James Hong (Mr.Ping).
The basis of the story for this one is Master Shifu tells Po that he has to find a new dragon warrior to take his place so he can move up to a higher spiritual calling. Po is sent off to face the villain known as Chameleon who wants to acquire all of Po’s expertise. Chameleon has the ability to disguise herself as anyone and uses that to mimic all of Po’s former adversaries.
