Faryin Mitchum, a senior at Hidden Valley High School, has been a vital contributor to the Titan Times staff. She joined the publication as a freshman and became an editor during her senior year.
During her time at Hidden Valley, Mitchum met many incredible classmates and teachers. However, she says her biggest influences have been her boyfriend, her best friend, and Ms. Fisher. Ms. Fisher, Mitchum’s AP U.S. History teacher during her junior year, always made her feel welcome.
“She always gave me a place to come and sit whenever I needed to get away from everything and always listened to my problems,” Mitchum said.
Meeting her best friend, Sarah Skime, and her boyfriend, Spencer Thacker, stands out as Mitchum’s favorite high school memory. Though she plans to stay connected with the most important people from high school, Mitchum is ready to move forward and not let high school define her.
After graduating from Hidden Valley on May 27, 2025, Mitchum plans to attend Radford University and major in nursing.
“I have wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember. Finally being able to get out into the world and do that is what I’m most excited about,” she said.
Alongside her passion for nursing, Mitchum also has a deep love for music. She plays the piano and believes that music is something you can always turn to, no matter your mood.
From all of us at the Titan Times, we are so excited to see where your journey takes you, Faryin. We wish you nothing but success in your next chapter, and Taylor Swift articles on this website will never be the same!
