As the final bell rings for the seniors, we turn our attention to Willow Burr, a Hidden Valley High School graduate who is excited to begin a new chapter in her life. Willow’s high school experience has been filled with memorable moments and meaningful achievements.
Reflecting on her favorite memory from high school, Willow said, “My favorite memory was when my dance team won the highest overall score out of all the dances at Dancemakers. We did really well that weekend, and we got to dance again in the faculty show, too.”
This moment captures Willow’s passion for dance. Beyond the dance floor, she found inspiration in the classroom, particularly through her history teacher, Ms. Springer.
“Ms. Springer had the biggest impact on me,” Willow said. “She was my history teacher last year and the years before. She is really nice, which always made me excited to go to her class. She also taught really well in a way that I could understand.”
In addition to her academic and dance achievements, Willow also founded and led the school’s fashion club, where she showcased her creativity and leadership.
Looking ahead, Willow is eager to embrace the college experience.
“I am excited to meet new people, be in a different environment, grow and learn from my mistakes, and overall, just to move on,” she said.
This summer, Willow will get a head start on college life by attending a pre-college summer program at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
“During the summer, I will be staying at SCAD during my birthday,” she said. “It’s a summer camp where you can live on campus and see how it will be.”
Willow plans to attend SCAD in the fall, where she will major in fashion design, fashion journalism, or business.
We wish Willow all the best as she pursues her goals and continues to grow through creativity and experience.
