This year, the Class of 2025 will be parting ways and discovering their futures. As the year wraps up, it’s a time to show appreciation for the seniors who have made an impact—especially one in particular: Elliet Moore.
Elliet has been a student at Hidden Valley High School since her sophomore year. Over the course of her high school journey, she has grown, learned, and is now ready to pursue higher education.
Before looking ahead to what’s next, it’s worth reflecting on Elliet’s most meaningful memories. She transferred to Hidden Valley as a sophomore after attending Community High School during her freshman year. Although she was excited to start fresh, the transition was intimidating, especially since she had never attended a public school before.
While the beginning was challenging, one teacher helped her adapt and thrive: Mrs. Blankenship.
“During my sophomore and junior years, I was going through a lot in my personal life as well as trying to get acclimated to public school, and she was there with me the whole time, helping me with issues, talking to me, and just being there as a support system,” Elliet said. “Ever since then, I have had so much appreciation for her.”
During those early years at Hidden Valley, Elliet built lasting friendships and created special memories. One of her favorites was helping build the sophomore homecoming float and riding down Brambleton Avenue with her friends.
“It was such a fun experience,” she said. “Memories like that will stick with me for years to come.”
As she reflects on her time at Hidden Valley, Elliet also has advice for her younger self.
“I would tell my freshman-self that school matters more than you think, and balance is key,” she said. “If you want your high school years to be as stress-free as possible, balancing your time with school, work, friends, and extracurricular activities is essential.”
Though she will always hold fond memories of her time here, Elliet is eager to move forward. She plans to attend Florida Atlantic University and pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience.
“I’m most excited about learning how to live far away from my loved ones and living in Florida,” she said. “I think the hardest part will be leaving everything I know behind and starting a new life—but I also think that’s the most exciting part.”
Hidden Valley will miss Elliet and the impact she has made on both teachers and fellow students. We look forward to seeing her flourish in the years ahead.
Congratulations to Elliet Moore and the entire Class of 2025!
