The international pop star Katy Perry took a trip up to space with a group of other celebrities and scientists. The launch recently happened from a well-known hub for space missions in Cape Canaveral, Florida, making a historic moment between pop culture and space travel. Katy Perry’s journey to space makes a rare blend of entertainment and exploration with her fans watching gaining more views and support. No one knows why Katy Perry went to space, some think that she maybe wanted to pursue new or old interests and prove it is never too late to do that, or she wanted to go back to school and inspire her fans by showing the importance of learning.
Katy Perry’s space journey was no ordinary day, it involved months of preparation, physical and mental training, and gaining the endurance and confidence. I asked a student at Hidden Valley High School, Griffin McCormick, (12), what challenges do you think she faced, and he responded with “It’s not easy to go to space, it requires a lot of training, time, and preparation to get ready.’’ Katy Perry proved she was willing to put in the work behind the scenes to pull this off, however there are some skeptics that have raised questions online, debating if she went or not. I asked another student at Hidden Valley High School, Aliese Viar,(12), her opinions on whether Katy Perry went to space, and this was her response, “I don’t think she actually went, she could have used green screen effects, and she was only up there for 10 minutes… I don’t think you can go up and back that quickly.” While the photos and footage seem convincing, not everything you see on the internet is true.
