Tom Brady has played with the New England Patriots since 2000 when he was first drafted; however, on Tuesday, March 17, he announced he will not be returning to the team next season, saying “my football journey will take place elsewhere”.

Three days later on March 20, Brady announced he would be playing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season in an Instagram post saying, he’s “excited, humble, and hungry.” The departure of Brady from the Patriots has sparked a wide range of reactions from disbelief to complete despair, and for some NFL fans, joyous celebrations.

Even without direct reason for his departure, Brady has thanked not only the Patriots staff and players, but also the fans as well, saying “Pats Nation will always be a part of me.”

No one knows for sure what Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will accomplish next season, but they will be “a tough team to stop”, according to the Buccaneers official Instagram.
