Hosted annually during winter break, the Men’s Basketball team participates in Holiday Hoopla. The tournament fell from December 28-30th this year, which included 10 participating teams: Floyd County, Lord Botetourt, William Fleming, Hidden Valley, Cave Spring, Martinsville, Roanoke Valley Christian, Franklin County, and Salem.

The Holiday Hoopla was not bracketed, but instead pre-scheduled. The teams participate not only to get better, but to have fun while doing so. The JV team participated in Holiday Hoopla, while the Varsity participated in the K-Guard Holiday Classic.

Alongside the Holiday Hoopla, the K-Guard Holiday Classic Tournament also took place, which featured William Fleming, Salem, Hidden Valley, Lord Botetourt, Jefferson Forrest, Broadway, Cave Spring, and Floyd County.

The tournament took place on December 28-30th, with Floyd starting the tournament out. Unlike the Holiday Hoopla, this is a bracketed tournament.

The Boys’ Varsity started out the tournament with a 40-38 win against Blacksburg, and then following a win against Lord Botetourt 51-42 but, ultimately being defeated by to Fleming 47-52.

Despite the loss, the Varsity team could only be proud of their run and the positives to take away from it.
