Starting September 26^th high fashion models will present a series of designer clothing during Paris Fashion Week in  Paris, France.

Paris Fashion Week creates an important platform for UK brands to meet with buyers. The fashion week includes over 100 shows which feature top fashion houses such as Chanel and Christian Dior. It showcases their latest collections and connects with the industry.

Miss Donathan from Hidden Valley High School believes Paris Fashion Week is important to the fashion industry.

“I think the Paris fashion week is important to the fashion industry overall, because it’s one of the main ones that clothing companies worldwide look to for recurring new themes and ideas for what may be upcoming trends.”

One of the fashion trends being presented this year in Paris Fashion Week so far have been “Future-proof” by Dior. They presented a new signature look of bodywarmers with technical features protecting the models’ bodies against war.

Miss Donathan expresses how she feels about the fashion being presented during Paris Fashion Week.

“I love seeing the shows presented during Paris fashion week because they tend to be so incredibly theatrical. Sometimes the shows themselves are so amazing it’s easy to get distracted from the designs being presented, but they are usually creative enough that the clothes hold their own even against the wild backdrops.”

Each year the top brands present a new theme for their clothing during Paris Fashion Week that catches the audience’s eye.

Miss Donathan says, “Sometimes the fashion week will be presented indoors but they have entire wave machines and multiple tons of sand brought in to make it look like a beach, or sometimes they’ll recreate Paris rooftops as runways even though it’s all taking place in an event center.”

Overall, Paris Fashion week is held semiannually is Paris, France with spring/summer and autumn/winter events held each year.
