Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow has become one of the most popular names in NFL in these past months and for good reason. Joe Burrow who had an explosive college football career playing for LSU and winning a Heisman in 2020 was eventually drafted into the NFL as a first pick to the Cincinnati Bengals.

His rookie season was not the greatest, it was very injury ridden and was cut short, but his second year showed promise, as he led the Bengals to their first appearance in the playoffs since 1990, exactly 30 years. He holds many Bengals franchise records such as passer rating and completion rate. During this past season Burrow brought the Bengals all the way to Super Bowl against the LA Rams. A back-and-forth game eventually ended in the Bengals being down and with seconds on the clock in the last quarter. With the score in range for a tie by field goal, and yards away from field goal range, the Bengals throw the ball for an incomplete pass, costing them the game. Burrow suffered a crushing defeat even though they were heavy underdogs. The Bengals having a reputation as a not so good team, had many rooting for them as a big underdog. Joe’s legacy and attitude was very played out over the internet gaining him many nicknames such as “Joe Shiesty” and “Joe Brr”.

Although not pulling through with a Super Bowl victory, Joe and the Bengals are most certainly a team to lookout for in NFL seasons to come.
