With the 2020-2021 NFL season starting last month, dozens of games have been played between the thirty-two teams. This begs the questions; what teams are leading their divisions and what teams have improved the most from last year?

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, starting late March all NFL preseason games were cancelled. No team got to officially play any matches until the regular season. Kicking off the regular season, the Chiefs played the Texans on 9/10/20. The Chiefs won 34-20. Early in week one, we saw many teams change and improve from last year.

One of the biggest pieces of news, Tom Brady left the Patriots along with Rob Gronkowski for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Filling Brady’s spot at quarterback was popular quarterback from the Panthers Cam Newton. The Buccaneers sit atop their division, while the Patriots have a losing record.

Many teams who last year were not considered the strongest have completely flipped the script. Teams like the Bears, Buccaneers, and Titans have had a major improvement in their results. The Titans who had a Cinderella run in last year’s playoffs are currently undefeated. This season the Titans finally get to show what their really made of and its showing with their position of first in their division with a record of 5-0.

Although still far away, there are many teams who have very good chances of making playoffs or even Super Bowl; Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs, and Seahawks.

However, some fans still hold out hope for their teams. “As a Panthers fan I believe our chances are good to at least make playoffs even if our record is not the best”, said Tegen Smith (11).

Current standings for the NFC have the Cowboys leading the East, Seahawks leading the West, Bears leading the North, and the Buccaneers leading the South. The AFC have the Bills leading the East, Chiefs leading the West, Steelers leading the North, and the Titans leading the South.

With ten more weeks left in the regular season, all these predictions; current standings; and results are open to change.
