The start of the 100th NFL season has begun!

With September now upon us, that means that the next NFL season is right around the corner. Every year, the start of the NFL season is one of the most highly anticipated sporting events in the world.

The league should definitely take a turn as there were many big moves made in the offseason by many teams. Such as the Cleveland Browns, their quarterback, Baker Mayfield is going into his 2nd year in the league and off of an above-average rookie season. Over the offseason, the Browns also acquired 3x Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr and signed running back Kareem Hunt. “Dorsey has transformed the roster into an on-paper powerhouse after helping the Chiefs do the same before parting ways two offseasons ago,” said Marc Sessler in his 2019 NFL free agency article. The Steelers lost two of their star players after Le’veon Bell left to sign with the New York Jets, and Antonio Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders but after Brown discussed his frustration with the team, the Raiders decided to release him and Brown eventually signed with the New England Patriots last Saturday.

Although it will be interesting to see how some players do in their new uniforms, some players got record-breaking contracts to return to the same team. Ezekiel Elliott, a running back for the Dallas Cowboys, was threatening to sit out during the season if he didn’t get a certain amount of money. The Dallas Cowboys then offered Elliott a $90 million dollar contract and made Elliott the highest paid running back in the league. Michael Thomas, a 2x pro bowl wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints, was given a $61 million dollar contract to make him the new highest paid wide receiver in the league.

With the NFL Preseason already over, it’s only a matter of time before the race for the Super Bowl begins.
