On December 31, 2021, Betty White died at age 99 in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. The Golden Girls star died peacefully in her sleep from a mild stroke.

The winner of five Primetime Emmys, a Daytime Emmy, a Grammy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards had suffered a stroke just 6 days before her death and was just weeks away from her 100th birthday. When asked if she was a fan of Betty White, Shae Torrence (10) said, “Yes, I was really looking forward to her 100th birthday. Plus, I think she’s super funny.” Many others like Shae were looking forward to celebrating White’s birthday, even a movie event was planned to celebrate her milestone.

Betty White was cremated and her remains were given to Glenn Kaplan. Kaplan was her advanced health care directive, or AHCD. An AHCD is also known as a living will or medical director. Betty White did not have children or grandchildren except for stepchildren with Allen Ludden, her first husband of three.

Her career spanned eight decades starting with her role in radio and her show, The Betty White Show, and ending with her role in the animated movie, Trouble. White was one of the first women to work in front and behind the camera and her net worth topped 75 million. “She will be missed,” states Sadie Henderson (12). One of the most famous actresses in American history indeed will be missed.
