An Ending of a Series

Halloween ends is a slasher movie that was released on October 14, 2022. The setting of this film takes place in Haddonfield, Illinois and revolves around the stars Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie Strode), Andi Matichak (Allyson Nelson), and Rohan Campbell (Corey Cunningham). The setting of this film takes place in Haddonfield, Illinois.

After four years of Strode’s last encounter with the masked killer Michael Myers. Nobody had seen Myers since and Strode finally decides to free herself from fury and dread to embrace life, while living with her granddaughter, Allyson Nelson. However, when a young man stands blamed for killing a boy that he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that forces Strode to face the shrewd she can’t control.

This film contained many unexpected plot twists, including the fact that nor Laurie, Allyson, or Michael are in the front and center of Halloween Ends, but Corey Cunningham was. He drives the plot, establishes the tone, and embodies the subject and central conflict. Corey’s story, in which nearby matured Strode and her granddaughter assume just a supporting part, makes for an engaging and suspenseful psychological thriller that might have worked independently of the Halloween series.

Halloween Ends doesn’t necessarily feel like Strode’s movie, which is surprising given that the probability that the main thing actually ending with this film is her residency with the character. Cunningham plays his role in this film amazingly but having Strode share so much of the spotlight with a new character who isn’t prominent in any of the film’s limited material will undoubtedly ruffle the feathers of longtime fans.

Overall, this movie had many spooky atmospheres and chilling scenes, but making Michael Myers vs. Laurie Strode the main focal point rather than Cunningham and Nelson, would have made the ending to this serious a more satisfying capstone for Strode to really get her revenge, as well as a broader liking of the movie.
