Rick and Morty Review

Justin Autrum, reporter

Rick and Morty’s 6th season came to an end on December 11th and can be watched on HBO Max.

Rick and Morty is a show about the adventures of a cynical mad scientist (Rick) and his grandson (Morty). Rick is an eccentric alcoholic, who does not believe in many ordinary conventions like school, family, love, and marriage. While Morty is a kindhearted boy, who is very naïve, but his grounded moral compass contradicts Rick’s. Morty has an older sister named Summer who is a teenager who is more conventional, and she only worries about improving her status among her peers and she will occasionally follow Rick and Morty on their adventures.

Then there’s Beth who is Morty and Summer’s mother who is a level-headed person and is also an assertive force in their household, but she is self-conscious about her being a horse surgeon. Beth is also not satisfied with her marriage to Jerry. Jerry is a very simple-minded character who is insecure, and he does not like Rick or the influence that Rick has over his family.

Their adventures take place across infinite planets and universes which they travel to using Rick’s flying saucer and portal’s. The shows earlier seasons where much sillier and goofy and random but the later seasons involve more storytelling and having moments where there is a serious tone to the show.
